Metro Vancouver
Roofing in North Vancouver
The North Shore gets significantly more rain than the rest of Metro Vancouver, and the higher you go up the slope the more of it you get. Combine that with heavy tree cover and roofs on the North Shore live a harder life than their equivalents across the inlet.
What North Vancouver roofs deal with
- Among the highest rainfall totals in Metro Vancouver, especially on the upper slopes
- Dense tree cover — constant needle and leaf debris in valleys and gutters
- Aggressive moss growth in shaded areas, often needing treatment as well as roofing work
- Steep, stepped lots and complex rooflines that make access and staging a real part of the job

Questions from North Vancouver homeowners
Is the estimate really free?
Yes. The roof inspection and the written estimate cost nothing and there is no obligation to book work. Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date they are issued.
How do I know whether I need a repair or a full replacement?
As a rule of thumb: if the problem is one failed detail — a length of flashing, a cracked vent boot, shingles off after a windstorm — a repair is usually the right answer. If shingles are curling and losing granules across the whole roof, or the deck feels soft underfoot, you are into replacement territory. We will give you a straight recommendation after we have looked at it.
Are you insured?
Yes. SG Peak Roofing Inc. carries general liability insurance and WorkSafe BC coverage. That protects you if something goes wrong on your property, and it is worth asking any roofer you are considering for the same.
Do you work in the rain?
Some work, yes — this is BC, and waiting for a dry month is not realistic. Repairs and inspections often go ahead in light rain. We will not tear off a roof we cannot get safely closed again the same day, so replacement work gets scheduled around the weather and we will reschedule rather than risk opening up your house.
